God is wonderful by Elaine Davenport (October 14- 21, 2007)

Before we pray, I just want to put you in mind of my Uncle John. He was the center of our family for such a long time. He was so much fun to be around. Oh my goodness. He only had one major flaw and I wasn't able to make headway on it to help him. In other words, I didn't know what to do at the time. Some of you may (more likely than not) have this same problem. Uncle John said he was an agnostic. I suspect it was what some might call a "popular" decision made by people in the "in crowd" who want to be different. Uncle John had been different all of his life, once he made a decision he stuck by it. I talked to him about that agnostic thing but I didn't have the kind of ammunition that I have now. I found out after he died that he respected m e so much that he never wanted me to know the extent of his bad habits. In fact, he went to great length to hide them from me. It is with great regret that I speak of this. My prayer for all of us is that we will be bold about God with our family members and our friends and not shirk back. I'm honest when I say I don't know if Uncle John changed his mind and confessed Christ before he died. I sure hope that he did.

Dearest Heavenly Father, you know our hearts. We stand before Your throne in the Authority of Jesus Christ, our great High Priest and we stand in great humility. We stand fully confident that it is Your will to add to Your family in the earth. Today, we ask that every family member, every friend who has not committed their lives to You will get an unction in their hearts to join the Kingdom of God. It is our prayer that they begin to totally understand Your way of doing things. We pray Father that they will be drawn unto You by Your Holy Spirit. We pray that the eyes of their enlightenment will be opened. We pray that their spiritual understanding will increase with such an urgency that they will no longer put off the heavenly life, the heavenly way. We pray that You will send worthy laborers to cross their paths to minister to them. We pray that they'll see miracles, signs and wonders and such Divine revelation that they will know more than ever before that You are Jehovah Jireh. We thank You and count it done. Amen

Prayer for the Week of October 1-7, 2007

O Righteous and Most Precious Father, Almighty God. It is my prayer that you Bless everyone reading this prayer today. I pray that they will increase their confidence and be firmly persuaded to study and believe Your Word. I pray that they will have clarity of mind in all of their decisions, I pray that they will come to know Your love for them and their future. You said: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health; even as thy soul prospereth in 111John 2.

I pray that there steps will be ordered by the Lord, that Your presence will go with them and You will give them rest. I pray that You will hold their right hand saying unto them: Fear not, I will help you. I pray that they will increase more and more them and their children. I pray that they will cast their burdens on you, knowing that you care for them. Father, strengthen hearts this day. I bind the spirit of confusion or fear and loose Godly wisdom and peace over each and every life in Jesus Name. Amen

PRAYER FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 24th - SEPTEMBER 30, 2007

Precious Father, we stand before Your throne this day. First and foremost we give You thanks for this glorious day. As we look upon the heavens and all of Your creation we are in awe of You. We are thankful indeed for the gift of life eternal life and that we are redeemed from poverty, sickness and spiritual death. We are thankful for Your instruction manual that You have given to us; the bible. Today, we pray that all men will move closer to you and gain wisdom on the truth of Your word. It is our prayer that they will realize that Your word is alive.

Thank You Father, that you don't care about our background and the things that we've done because You love us unconditionally. Thank You Father that healing, love joy, wisdom, salvation, favor, peace and mercy are Yours to give freely give to all that ask of You. Teach us to patiently wait for You to fix the broken pieces in our lives just being confident that You will do and always do what Your word says that You will do.

Help us to be compassionate and caring towards our fellow man. Give us insights this day as You order our steps. Strengthen us in the weak areas of our lives. Areas like: temptation, carelessness, integrity, offense, sensitivity, apathy and any other area that is not pleasing to You. We bind the spirits of: wickedness, confusion, revenge and spitefulness in our lives. We loose spirits of: calmness and peace, confidence and joy, compassion and love, and all that is good.

We release our angels to go before us to protect us from any hurt, harm or danger.
Enable us this day to speak Your word in all that we do; thus incorporating it as a full part of our lives. In Jesus name we pray. AMEN.

A Prayer for Families by Elaine Davenport ( Week of September 10th -16th, 2007)

Father, please hear our prayer. Father we lift up every family. We ask You to pour Your Love and your mercy and grace on them. It is our prayer that if they are broken; that they will be healed. Families face so much in this world Father. Your word says that whatsoever things we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever things we lose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. So we bind: abuse, trauma, poverty, alcoholism, drugs, neglect, suicide, gangs, cults, abductions, shaken baby syndrome, SID's disorder, ADD, unemployment, homelessness, mental illness, any form of sickness and disease, mismanagement of funds, disorganization, disobedience, schisms, miscommunication, division, anger, deceit or anything that might bring hurt, harm, fear or danger to any family. We loose knowledge, peace, wisdom, order, love, joy, prosperity and wholeness to families. You Blessed us with families and yet we face so much so we cast our cares and burdens on You because we know that You care for us.

Help each of us to appreciate and value the people in our lives. Five us words and acts of kindness at the right times to demonstrate the love of God. Help us to remember that the Greater One lives on the inside of us. Give us favor in our relationships, the ability to adapt, be flexible and not to be rattled. Help us to be mindful of the feelings of others. Teach us to hold our tongues when necessary. Allow us to use words that will paint a beautiful picture of the wonderful beings that we are . Allow us to be humble and patient. Correct us when we are wrong, order our steps, lead us in the right ways. As we walk, dispense our ministering angels before us to prosper our way.

Teach us to grow in Godly wisdom, make a way for us to increase, court us as we build our faith, forgive us our sins as we walk the straight and narrow path trying not to miss it to the left or to the right. Touch us so that we'll remember to be thankful, to be bold, to tell others about you unashamedly. Remind us not to be prideful. Mark us in such a way that others will want to know what we know and separate us unto You. Allow us quiet time each day with you and open a passage way for us to grow and mature, spiritually, emotionally, physically and whatever way You deem is necessary.

Father, if we have left anything uncovered or if we have overlooked anything at all big or small; please cover us. We thank You and ask it all in the Authority of our defense attorney; Jesus The High Priest. Amen

Father God in heaven, we just thank You. You are so majestic, so powerful, so full of mercy. We thank You for sending Your son, the Lord Jesus Christ to redeem us. We break the curse of poverty, oppression and racism over their lives. We bind Satan from fooling people and deceiving them through trickery and lies. It is our prayer that people will be open to the Word of Salvation and the Word of knowledge t5throughout the world even including the United States and within our families. We
ask it all in the Authority of Jesus.

Prayers and Confessions ; a great duo by Elaine Davenport (Tuesday, September 4, 2007)

Praying is speaking to God and telling Him what you need. It is also finding out what He needs from you. It's a two way conversation; though for years many have erroneously thought was (and still do) one way.

Confession is speaking to yourself, God and to others what it is that you are believing that the promises of God in the Word of God say that you are entitled to. In many cases it is saying what God has said to you personally. Many times it is you hearing you and faith does come by hearing.

* Confession seems to be reinforced by prayer in many cases; perhaps it even emanates from prayer. There certainly is a link. Perhaps a confession leads to prayer or prayer is linked to or focused on confession.

I had never even heard of confession power. I was led in my life to begin a prayer life. After I did this; my life flipped. It changed drastically for the better.

As a result of my closer relationship with God; I began to speak His promises over my life. It was in fact; a profession of my faith. I began to create lists of declarative faith based statements regarding my future, to believe God for these occurrences, to speak them into existence and to take action steps to make them happen. I also began to praise God and thank Him for these promises. My faith position is always one where I am in expectation.

CONFESSION, IS AN ACT OF FAITH. No one told me this; I just figured it out from reading and hearing the Word of God.

When I talk about confession in this matter today; I am speaking of confession like Abraham who called those things that be not as though they were. Jesus did it many times. I call it talking faith. Faith believes before it is seen. The bible says so.

One of the most powerful illustrations of this is the story of the Woman with the issue of blood. There are three accounts by Holy men of God: Matthew, Mark and Luke.

Here they are:
And behold, a woman who was diseased with an issue of blood for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the hem of His garment;

for she said to herself, "If I may but touch His garment, I shall be whole." (THIS WAS HER CONFESSION)

But Jesus turned about, and when He saw her, He said, "Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole." And the woman was made whole from that hour. MATTHEW 9: 20-22

LUKE 8: 43-49

And a woman having an issue of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her living upon physicians but could not be healed by any,

came behind Him and touched the border of His garment; and immediately her issue of blood was stanched.

And Jesus said, "Who touched Me?" When all denied it, Peter and those who were with him said, "Master, the multitudes throng Thee and press Thee, and sayest Thou, `Who touched Me?'"

And Jesus said, "Somebody hath touched Me, for I perceive that virtue is gone out of Me."

47And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before Him, she declared unto Him before all the people for what cause she had touched Him, and how she was healed immediately.

48And He said unto her, "Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. Go in peace."

MARK 5: 27-34

And a certain woman who had an issue of blood twelve years,

and had suffered many things under many physicians, and had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse,

when she had heard of Jesus, came up behind Him in the press of the crowd and touched His garment;

for she said, "If I may touch but His clothes, I shall be whole." (THIS WAS HER CONFESSION)

And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that virtue had gone out of Him, turned about in the press of the crowd and said, "Who touched My clothes?"

And His disciples said unto Him, "Thou seest the multitude thronging Thee, and sayest Thou, `Who touched Me?'"

And He looked round about to see her who had done this thing.

But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done in her, came and fell down before Him and told Him all the truth.

And He said unto her, "Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole. Go in peace, and be whole of thy plague."

THIS WOMAN PUT FAITH INTO ACTION, BY BELIEVING, BY TALKING AND DOING.

SHE SAID: IF I MAY BUT TOUCH HIS GARMENT (HIS CLOTHES) , I'LL BE MADE WHOLE.
SHE BELIEVED...THEN SHE WENT TO FIND JESUS.

SHE PRESSED TO TOUCH HIM
SHE GOT HER HEALING....

BUT IT ALL STARTED WITH THE POWER OF CONFESSION WHICH BUILT HER FAITH AND GOD HONORED HER CONFESSION. WOW. THAT'S POWERFUL. WHAT ARE YOU CONFESSING?

____________________________________________________________________________________

Your confession doesn't have to be a dissertation; but it has to come out of your mouth.

Faith speaks and faith acts/ Faith doesn't just sit and wait and think good thoughts.
Let's look at Jesus in Mark 11`: 22, 23, 24 as he teaches the disciple of Jesus about the power of confession regarding problems or mountains that get in our way. Since I am a disciple of Jesus; I receive this as instruction for myself and other disciples. Here it is:

And Peter, calling to remembrance, said unto Him, "Master, behold, the fig tree which Thou cursed is withered away." And Jesus answering, said unto them, "Have faith in God.

For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, `Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea,' and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith.

IN ONE VERSE; JESUS TALKED ABOUT THE BASE WORD "SAY" 4 TIMES. THAT'S SIGNIFICANT.

So, I watch what I say knowing that my negative confession or my positive confession can shape my life. I believe it, put my faith out for it and back it up with the Word of God. In other words, whatever I am believing God for; I make certain that it is biblical, and in prayer; I make certain that God is directing me and ordering my steps and that it is pleasing to Him. Souls are important to God and I keep His mission in my heart. I work on becoming self "less" every day.

I might add that since Confession is an act of faith that one might remember that being in expectation of change, patience, praise and giving thanks are as well.

PRAYER; NO DOUBT MAKES CONFESSION MORE POWERFUL.
